International Internal Auditing Standards
The Standards represent the basic principles of the practice of internal audit. They are intended to provide a framework for internal audit activities, establish the basis for evaluation of internal audit performance, and foster improved organizational processes and operations. The Standards consist of Attribute Standards, Performance Standards, and Implementation Standards and are part of The IIA’s Professional Practices Framework.
The Institute of Internal Auditors' Academic Relations Program
The IIA is committed to increasing and enhancing internal auditing education in colleges and universities worldwide. Internal auditing is fundamental to the governance process of any well-run organization. Therefore, education in internal auditing should be part of every business and public administration curriculum. The IIA Academic Relations Department oversees the Internal Audit Education Partnership (IAEP) program with the IIA Academic Relations Committee.
The IIA Research Foundation - Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK)
The Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation has conducted the most comprehensive and global study ever conducted about the internal audit profession. It has produced a rich database of information that will be known as the Common Body of Knowledge. To be repeated every three years, CBOK looks at how internal auditors are doing their work around the world and will allow The Institute of Internal Auditors to shape the future the profession. CBOK will also be available to organizations and internal audit practitioners to help them perform their work.
